On Saturday, July 17, 2020, while en route to a reported stuck occupied elevator at North Shore University Hospital, Deputy Chief Antonelli (8704) was advised by M-LFD Dispatch of a reported basement fire at 150 Manor Drive, in Great Neck. DC8704 redirected to that scene and transmitted a "Signal 10" for a working fire in the basement of the residence. E8740 arrived first on scene and stretched a line to basement. E8735 also stretched a hoseline upon their arrival. Crews from all six M-LFD Companies operated at the scene, and the fire was contained to the basement. Several animals were removed from the residence unharmed. The Great Neck Alert Fire Company provided a FAST Truck, while the Port Washington Fire Department responded to the elevator emergency and stood by for the M-LFD district with the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company. The Nassau County Fire Marshal's rehab unit was also requested to the scene due to the high heat and humidity. All units were released from the scene by Deputy Chief Rice (8701) within two hours.
