M-LFD Makes Quick Work of Great Neck Garage Fire

On August 9, 2020, at approximately 5:17 p.m., all M-LFD Companies were alerted to 6 Cornell Drive for a reported garage fire. Deputy Chief Weisburd (8702), was the first on scene and transmitted a "Signal 10" for a working fire in an attached garage. E8740 was the first piece of apparatus to arrive on scene, and stretched a line to begin to knock down the fire. The crew of Q8728 arrived on scene and checked to make to ensure the fire didn't communicate into the residence. The Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company responded with L8312 as a FAST truck. The fire was placed under control in under a half hour by Chief of Department Mazurkiewicz.
