On Friday, August 14, 2020, at approximately 6:03 p.m., all M-LFD Companies were alerted to a reported structure fire at 47 Plandome Road in Manhasset. Deputy Chief Weisburd (8702) was the first to respond and was advised that a Nassau County Police Department Detective was on scene reporting a working building fire. A Signal 10 was transmitted, by Deputy Chief Weisburd, with heavy smoke and fire throughout the building. E8711 and TL8744 arrived on scene within 6 minutes of the initial call and operated as the first due engine and ladder, respectively. A total of 4 handlines were stretched and operated at the scene by all five M-LFD fire companies. The M-LFD Ambulance Unit provided rehab, and handled two minor injuries sustained by firefighters. Mutual aid was provided at the scene by the Port Washington, Great Neck Vigilant and Plandome fire Departments, as well as the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Rehab Unit. The fire was placed under control at 7:11 p.m., and all units were released from the scene at 8:16 p.m., by Chief of Department Mazurkiewicz (8703).
